Bamboo and Life
The ancients said that: "Better having no meat in eating than having no bamboos in living".
Bamboo has been closely linked to our life in the long process of historical development. The indissoluble bounding between the long standing Chinese culture and the bamboo has formed up the colorful and unique Chinese bamboo culture.
Anji is the birthplace of the "Two Mountains" concept and the origin of "Beautiful Countryside". In Anji, the number of bamboo culms, annual bamboo product output, annual output of bamboo, annual export value of bamboo products, and comprehensive economic strength of bamboo industry are among the best in the country. The cultivation of bamboo forests, the processing of bamboo products and the development of bamboo tourism resources are all among the top of China and even the world.
China is one of the best bamboo regions in the world, Zhejiang Province produces the best bamboo in China and among all Zhejiang cities, Anji produces the best bamboo!
The competition was initiated by the People's Government of Anji County, Zhejiang Province; the theme is "Bamboo and Life". We want our designers to redefine the meaning of "bamboo" from a whole new perspective and let bamboo products serve modern people's life better. Through this competition, we can also attract better and higher-end design innovative talents to improve Anji bamboo products’ market competitiveness and added value, and to strength Anji's enterprise innovation capabilities and design achievements transformation capabilities. We hope that the outstanding design work will influence the future of "bamboo and life".
